The map above shows just some of the streets of Silver Springs Shores, Florida, possibly the worst place in the world to be a postman. If you can’t immediately see why have a look at the street names…
For example, look at just some of the suffixes for streets named ‘Spring.’ You have:
- Road
- Place
- Lane
- Drive
- Run
- Radical
- Circle
- Loop
- Loop Circle
- Pass
- Trace
- Terrace
- Track
- etc
Then you have similar situations for streets named ‘Water’, ‘Pine’, ‘Bahia,’ etc. And it doesn’t end there, have a look at the Google maps and you can see similar naming patterns in neighbouring cities as well.

You have obviously never visited Hickory, NC.
Just saying…

Your comment prompted me to have a look at Hickory on Google Maps. That’s a nightmare…and not just for postmen I imagine.

Oh man, it´s easy: To go from the Freedom Assembly Church to the Hickory History Center you go 9th St NW down South , take at the forth crossroads the 3rd Ave Dr NW to the Southeast (because 3rd Ave NW is a one-way-street there), follow it after it became 2nd Ave NW, turn North at 2nd St NE, turn west immediately at the next traffic light in 3rd Ave NE and there you are. And don´t forget where you parked your car 😉
